Overview
As global climate change challenges continue to escalate, the urgency and importance of guiding the civil engineering industry toward low-carbon development has become increasingly evident. To effectively achieve the utilization of CO2 and the goals of carbon neutrality in civil engineering, foundational research into construction technologies and civil engineering materials is essential. This includes recycling CO2 from construction waste, employing CO2 static explosion technology, applying CO2 in concrete production processes, and implementing greening practices in civil engineering construction. This special issue of JCOU is dedicated to exploring various effective methods for the innovative utilization of CO2 in civil engineering (IUCCE). We are eager to compile a collection of research works that align with the scope of JCOU journals, showcasing the latest advancements in IUCCE. These scholarly contributions will be crucial in advancing the goal of carbon neutrality in civil engineering, thus significantly impacting the effort to address the global climate crisis.
