Overview
Process intensification is essential in achieving sustainable industrial practices. This special issue aims to dissect the intricacies of challenges and prospects within separation and purification technologies for sustainability. The conventional methods of separation commonly pose two primary challenges, i.e., excessive energy consumption and environmental impact. These challenges however can be addressed by exploring innovative intensification methodologies that offers promising avenues to reduce energy demands and environmental footprint. Yet, their seamless integration into existing unit operations can pose various challenges.
