Special issue information:
Due to the steady improvements chromatography has undergone in the past decades, samples can nowadays be analysed in much more detail, leading to a vast amount of data and information. At the same time, computers have become more powerful and a vast array of statistical tools have become available for data analysis and processing in chromatography and mass spectrometry. Since a couple of years, also machine learning tools are being employed for a variety of tasks, such as method development, signal processing, data analysis and interpretation. This special issue aims at giving an overview of state-of-the-art statistical and machine learning tools and how they can be applied in chromatography.
