Exosomes, a class of extracellular vesicle (EVs) play role in intercellular communication and allow the exchange of proteins and lipids that initiate numerous cellular responses, with specific surface markers and can also be easily functionalized or genetically engineered.This Special Issue focuses on all the aspects of exosomes pharmacokinetics, immunogenicity, safety concerns, and their diagnostic & targeted drug delivery applications not only in cancer but also in other ailments like cardiovascular, neurodegenerative, and metabolic diseases.
It includes role of exosomes in physiological as well as pathophysiological processes, novel approaches of isolation and characterization, functionalization and designing of exosomes as potential, advanced and promising diagnostic as well as therapeutic tool.
It also includes discussion on the benefits, on-going challenges, and future perspective of this novel field.
