Special issue information:
Prof. Pietro Tundo was one of the promoters of Green Chemistry in Italy and worldwide, author of more than 350 scientific publications and 40 patents. Among his countless activities he was Founder and President of the Interuniversity Consortium of Chemistry for the Environment (INCA) 1993-2009, he was a member of the Bureau of IUPAC 2016-2020 and Chair of the IUPAC Interdivisional Committee on Green Chemistry for Sustainable Development 2015- 2022. Furthermore, since 1998 he was the creator and chair of 15 editions of the Green Chemistry Postgraduate Summer School (Venice, Italy).
In 2020, Prof. Pietro Tundo has founded the Green Sciences for Sustainable Development Foundation, a non-profit organization of which he has been the President until today.
His long career as a university professor at the Italian universities of Venice, Turin and Messina, together with his scientific research work, have left a significant imprint on several generations of students and scientists from all over the world, who have had the honor to know him and work together with him.
Prof. Pietro Tundo represents a true example of passion for study and knowledge, who has always pursued the ideals of sustainability, international cooperation and equality between peoples with his initiatives.
