We invite submissions to a special issue of the European Economic Review that focuses on market power and its implications from a search-theoretic perspective.

Market power is a topic that has received renewed attention from economists and policymakers in recent years. Our understanding of market power stands to gain from recent advances in search-theoretic approaches. Such approaches microfound the concept of market power, showing exactly how it arises from the micro-level interactions between buyers and sellers and how it depends on factors such as the market tightness, the market structure, the information structure, and the search technology which governs how buyers and sellers interact.
