Overview
The journal Thermochimica Acta is currently running a Virtual Special Issue (VSI) entitled "Recent advancements on application of calorimetric techniques to characterize the glass transition and physical aging of glasses", which focuses on recent developments on the use of calorimetric techniques, including state-of-the-art fast-scanning calorimetry (FSC), to attain information on the kinetics pathways followed by glasses of different nature –including polymers, metallic glasses, small molecules and other glasses – and the associated time scale to minimize their free energy during vitrification and physical aging.
