Overview
The 8th International Conference on Functional Materials and Devices 2024 (ICFMD2024) took place on August 6-8, 2024 in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, Malaysia. ICFMD2024 provide a platform for scientists and technologists engaged in various sub-disciplines of advanced materials and devices to present and discuss their research activities. The conference covered fields such as functional materials, polymer electrolytes, nanomaterials, biomaterials, electro-active ceramic, magnetic materials, optoelectronic materials, piezo and ferroelectric materials, nuclear materials, and theoretical/modelling/computer simulations of functional materials. Driven by the urgency of climate change mitigation, discussion also covering applications in energy storage and conversion, encompassing batteries, capacitor, solar cells, fuel cells, and the necessity to move beyond current device performance. This special issue is to provide deepened discussions of the new exciting results shared during ICFMD2024.
